   "Holly Hill" has always been a happy place.  Each Christmas for over 25 years, we opened the gate from Thanksgiving to Christmas and sold Christmas trees to our neighbors from the surrounding towns.  It was with a great deal of joy and pride as we watched the same persons and their children come back year after year.  And then, before we knew it, these children were suddenly grown, and they came back with their children . . . and with Grandma and Grandpa.

   We can tell lots of funny stories that happened through the years.  Like the 20' tree that a family tied on the top of a Volkswagen beetle.  And then there was the huge tanker truck that pulled in, and we watched in amazement as the driver purchased a 4' tree and tied it on the top of the tanker.  Or how about the tree that fell off on the way home and couldn't be found . . . and which we replaced for free?  There were the occasional persons who forgot their money.  They explained that they would have to go home and get it . . . but "please don't sell my special tree to anyone else". We always sent them home with their special tree and told them to mail in
the money.  There usually was a stunned moment of disbelief and
happiness with the realization that we would trust them without question.   And you know, never once did anyone fail to send it . . . usually accompanied with a thank you note full of Christmas wishes.  

   Yes, there are many happy memories locked in here at "Holly Hill".  Just as the original Christmas tree customers became Grandma and Grandpa, so did we, and the time has come to convert "Holly Hill Christmas Tree Farm" to the "Holly Hill Community of Fine Homes" . . . in a low-key manner which respects the environment and the heritage of time and place.  We
